Summer Position Descriptions
Camp Counselors
Responsible to work under the supervision of Cedar Lake Ministries’ Program Coordinator and Program Assistants. Primary responsibility is the care and supervision of campers during each week of camp, in our Day Camp and Overnight Camp programs. Serve as facilitator of small groups, games and activities, have meaningful conversations with campers while showing responsibility for creating a safe, positive, fun camp environment in our Day Camp and Overnight Camp sessions. Must be a recent high school graduate 18 years or older.
Lifeguards
Responsible to work under the supervision of Cedar Lake Ministries’ Summer Leadership Team. Supervision of all waterfront related activities such as boating, tubing, swimming, and ensure that campers have a safe and fun experience at the waterfront. Ensuring upkeep of facilities and equipment. Requires active monitoring and enforcing rules to ensure the safety and well-being of campers on the lakefront. May come alongside the Summer Leadership Team to assist in the implementation of daily schedule, games and activities. Minimum age 16.
Health Officer
Current RN student or current CNA who will provide for camper’s basic needs by overseeing the collection, storage and distribution of camper medication. Prepared to care for minor injuries and equipped to handle major emergencies. CPR/First Aid certification preferred. Age 20 or older is preferred.
Media Assistant
Responsible to work under the supervision of Cedar Lake Ministries’ Media/Marketing Coordinator. Ensure sound for all sessions, working with speakers and worship leaders on any slide presentations, mics, tv’s, ensuring any and all equipment is ready for sessions. Responsible to play CLM provided soundtrack prior to session beginning. Capture video and photos of camper’s daily activities, including but not limited to small groups, sessions, waterfront, dining hall, specialty camp, etc. Weekly video prepared by Friday every week to be played during closing sessions. Soundtrack must be approved by Program leadership. Prefer media/marketing/communications major in college with at least one year of college completed.
