Several Middle School summer programs are being offered June 5th through 8th and June 12th through 15th from 8am-1pm at Pinnacle Middle School. There is no cost if your child is accepted in the program. Four different programs are being offered for interested students. Three programs are AVID and/or STEM related and the other is VEX Robotics. Programs are capped at 25 open spots per program and applicants will be selected mid-April and notification will be sent to accepted students. Please fill out this interest form to be considered!

Se ofrecen varios programas de verano de la escuela secundaria del 5 al 8 de junio y del 12 al 15 de junio de 8 am a 1 pm en Pinnacle Middle School. No hay costo si su estuidiante es aceptado en el programa. Se ofrecen cuatro programas diferentes para los estudiantes interesados. Tres programas están relacionados con AVID y/o STEM y el otro es Robótica VEX. The AVID Math and Science STEM Summer Bridge Programs are designed to strengthen students’ math and science skills and to increase the number of students who enroll and succeed in Algebra 1. These middle school programs provide engaging, real-world science and math learning opportunities. Each program teaches rigorous content using WICOR strategies such as focused note-taking, interactive notebooks, writing and vocabulary activities, and team building to engage students in STEM opportunities. The engaging, interactive lessons and collaborative activities also incorporate strategies that provide support for English Language Learners. The individual AVID Summer Bridge Programs are correlated to national math and science standards and skills. 25 openings will be available for the two weeks. Los programas STEM Summer Bridge (puntes de verano) de matemáticas y ciencias de AVID están diseñados para fortalecer las habilidades de matemáticas y ciencias de los estudiantes y para aumentar la cantidad de estudiantes que se inscriben y tienen éxito en Álgebra 1. AVID’s English Language Development (ELD) Summer Bridge provides middle school English language learners with an opportunity to engage in interactive and fun lessons that focus on academic language acquisition, community building, and school connectivity. 25-50 openings will be available for the two weeks. VEX Robotics Camp: VEX Robotics is educational robotics for all skill levels and will be available for students entering 6th through 8th grades. VEX solutions span all levels of both formal and informal education with accessible, scalable, and affordable solutions. Beyond science and engineering principles, VEX encourages creativity, teamwork, leadership, and problem solving among groups. This camp engages and inspires the STEM problem solvers of tomorrow! 25 openings available for the two weeks.
