CTFDA 2025 Membership
Welcome to a new season of Ultimate!

We are again inviting pick-up players & social players, along with the existing registered players, to register with the Cape Town Flying Disc Association (CTFDA) aka Cape Town Ultimate. Please take a few minutes to complete this on-line form to make your membership to Cape Town Flying Disc Association (CTFDA) official for 2025. 

1. Payment: 
Regardless of your payment status, we would like to capture all players' details to see how our sport is growing and changing in Cape Town so please complete the registration form. It is still free to register with CTFDA - your fees are only payable to play in competitive leagues (more on that further down). 

2. Liability Waiver: 
Your registration must include acceptance of the Liability Waiver. You are participating voluntarily, we are just covering our organization.

3. WFDF Rules Accreditation: 
The league/tournament coordinator(s) may determine the level of accreditation required for participation in competitive events, but CTFDA encourages all players to know at least the standard rules and review them annually.

CTFDA is welcoming of all individuals and recognizes that people may not conform to the strict female/male binary. For matches and divisions, athletes should matchup with the Ultimate Rules gender category they identify with or feel most comfortable marking. Please indicate your preferred choice here, for statistical purposes, but we acknowledge that for some this may change with time and you may indicate so on game days. CTFDA's Inclusion Policy can be found on the website and we are open to additional ideas about how to be more inclusive so feel free to contact us at helloctfda@gmail.com. We trust that members in good standing of our community will not take advantage of the system.

CTFDA will continue to collect socio-demographic characteristics in order to track the growth and diversity of our community over time.  Please indicate what population group you identify with best (categories based on Census 2022).

Qualification for age-based competition is based on how old you will be 'within the year'. Please enter your year of birth to help us ascertain the number of players eligible for Juniors, Masters, U24, etc.
Expected level of involvement in 2025 (not ability) *
There will also be tournaments in 2025, which may either open one-off events or qualifying competitions.
Choosing the first 5 options will complete your registration as a social member (no payment required). 
Choosing the 6th option "Regular competitive leagues" will take you through to the club membership section.

Let us know what events & activities you would like to see more of e.g. skills clinics, leadership development, social tournaments, women only games, women/men only training, etc. Also, if you are able to help facilitate such events, please let us know!

Liability Waiver *
By choosing "Agree" below, I agree  I will not hold the members of the Cape Town Flying Disc Association (CTFDA) and/or the South African Flying Disc Association (SAFDA) liable during the playing of any disc sports for the duration of 2025 for any losses, damages, expenses (including medical expenses), costs, legal fees and/or disbursements which may arise from injury, death, harm, or loss to person suffered or loss or damage of property as a result of my participation in the sport, including travelling to and from any of the venues. I confirm that my participation in the sport and all related activities is entirely voluntary and I accept all risks involved therein. I also agree to be bound by the CTFDA Code of Conduct and  the CTFDA Anti-Harassment Policy  .

STAY IN TOUCH
CTFDA Mailing List - This is email sent regularly by the committee, but at most, once a week. It is the primary source of detailed announcements & updates. It includes things such as announcement of leagues & tournaments, highlights of development activities, information passed to us from the National body SAFDA, etc. We make sure it is not SPAM and try to make it slightly entertaining. BE AN ADULT - SIGN-UP & READ IT.

Website - This is a regularly updated website which provides basic and overarching information about Ultimate and what CTFDA is doing to grow the sport. It includes information & links for things such as What is Ultimate?, Rules, Where to find a pick-up game, a list of Clubs & Teams who train, a list of events that can be expected in the year (a normal year that is), our policies, where to buy discs, etc. Check it out and direct people who're keen about Ultimate to the site.

Then for those really hooked on Ultimate:

SAFDA Mailing List - These are sporadic emails from the National Association with information pertaining to National tournaments, team selection,  policy, etc. There is a representative for the Western Region who is tasked with conveying pertinent information to CTFDA members, as well as garnering feedback so its up to you how much you want to be in the loop.
