What is a GEAR UP Mentor?

AS A GEAR UP MENTOR, YOU WILL:  
• serve as a leader and role model to your peers
• get fellow students excited about school and learning
• attend regular meetings to build your leadership strengths
• encourage your fellow students to do well in their classes
 
 GEAR UP EXPECTS ALL MENTORS TO:
• commit to being a Mentor for the entire school year
• earn good grades in all classes
• be on time and reliable
• attend all Mentor meetings and activities
• respect and accept all students

SOME OF THE PERKS OF MENTORING INCLUDE:

• increasing your college knowledge
• making a positive impact at your school
• becoming a better public speaker
• meeting other students from different schools during Summer & Winter field trips
• being better prepared for high school
• leading fun and exciting school-wide activities/contests!
