تأتي هذه الدعوة في محاولة لدعم مفهوم النشر الذاتي والمستقل بين الأوساط الفنية والثقافية المختلفة وكجزء من حاجتنا للتواصل مع جمهور أوسع من فنانين وكتاب ورسامين وصانعي القصص المصورة ومصورين وطلاب فنون وباحثين.
في حال كنت قد عملتم على مطبوعة مستقلة، كتاب فني أو مجلة مؤخرا وتريدون عرضها لجمهور أوسع من خلال ضمها لكتالوج مكتبة مركز الصورة المعاصرة. ندعوكم لمشاركتنا تلك المطبوعات، سنعرض هذه المطبوعات في ركن خاص في المكتبة و سنقوم بفهرستها على موقع مبادرة المكتبات المشتركة.

كما سنشير إليها في وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي، أيضا نحن نُتيح عدد محدود من المطبوعات للبيع من خلال مكتبتنا. تأتي هذه الدعوة في إطار مشروع حول النشر الذاتي والمستقل من خلال فعاليات وأنشطة مختلفة تضمن العمل على توفير مساحة للعمل على مطبوعات وورش عمل ونقاشات عامة.

As part of our desire to work with and support independent and self publishing initiatives in the region we would like to connect to a wider audience of artists, writers, illustrators, comic makers, students, researchers who make zines or engage in other self-made printing activities. If you are working or worked recently on an artists book or a zine and you would like to make it accessible to the public by adding it to our library’s catalog.
This call comes as part of a project on self publishing practices we are currently working on. The project includes the setting up of screen printing and bookbinding facilities, book presentations and related events and a substantial educational programme.

The zines and artist books will be catalogued on PILOT and made accessible to the public through a new zine and artist books shelf in our library and showcased on our social media. We also make a limited number of publications available through our bookshop.
