WIT - Personal Finance & Investing: Foundations for a Bright Financial Future
This course is a 2 units course offered through WIT in partnership with UCSD Extension. It is open to students grades 6th - 12th. This course will be taught virtually.
Students will explore the practical world of personal finance and investing. The course will cover personal credit, methods of payment, budgeting, financial statements, insurance, taxes, and investing.
Students will engage in critical and analytical thinking activities including a personal budget simulation, stock market game, and related tax, insurance and credit projects. This will be a project-based course, no tests or quizzes. The learning and value of the course lie in the projects students create. The critical thinking skills and planning processes students learn from this course pave the way for each student to plan for a bright financial future.
