Stella McCartney
Stella McCartney was born in London to two wonderfully creative parents, Paul McCartney and Linda Eastman. As a young girl, she travelled the globe with her parents and their pop group 'Wings' along with her siblings. According to her father, the name of "Wings' was inspired by Stella's birth. As she was being born by emergency caesarean section, her father sat outside the operating room and prayed that she would be born "on the wings of an angel".

Stella became interested in designing clothes at age 12, when she made her first jacket. Three years later, she trained under Christian Lacroix. She studied fashion design at Central Saint Martin's College of Art and Design and was fortunate to have her graduation collection modelled by friends and famous supermodels. However, an important highlight for her was that her father wrote the song to which the collection was shown.

Since then she has licensed her designs to Bergdorf Goodman and Neiman Marcus, been appointed to the Paris fashion house Chloe, developed her own fashion brand, expanded into perfume and launched a skincare line. As a strict vegetarian, Stella does not use fur or leather in her designs and has protested against designers that do. Her charity work extends to other areas too and this aspect of her life is equally as important as designing.

Stella considers being married with three children one of her greatest achievements. Together with her husband, she tries to balance a demanding work life with family, but being a successful designer makes this very difficult.
