Creating A Culture of Wellness:                        Professional Learning for Leaders, Staff, Students, and Families
This FREE mini-summit will happen at IU9 in Smethport, PA
June 15th and 16th, 2022
From 9 am to 3 pm each day

June 15th – Target Audience – School Leaders and Coaches:
This session will provide an overview of how district and school leaders can build a system to support wellness for all.  This includes the use of data, systems, and practices within a multi-tiered system of support.  A review of strategies, resources, tools, and examples will be shared.  These materials will support districts and schools to create safe, predictable, and nurturing learning environments.  
Objectives:
1) Participants will be able to describe the current context and why there is a need to focus on wellness.
2) Participants will be able to identify at least three strategies for supporting the wellness of adults and students within schools.
3) Participants will be able to define resiliency and how they can foster the four key aspects in their school climate and culture.

June 16th – Target Audience – Teachers and School Staff:
This session will provide strategies and examples for teachers to use in both their own wellness and in supporting students within their classrooms.  With the increasing prevalence of mental health concerns, teachers need to feel confident and competent in addressing the social-emotional-behavioral needs of each student.  A review of strategies, resources, tools, and examples will be shared.  These materials will support educators in building a culture of wellness within their school and classrooms.  
Objectives:
1) Participants will be able to describe the current context and why there is a need to focus on wellness.
2) Participants will be able to identify at least three strategies for supporting their own, as well as their student’s wellness.
3) Participants will be able to define resiliency and how they can foster the four key aspects in their classroom.

Presenter: Kelly Perales is the Co-Director of the Midwest PBIS Network and an Implementer Partner with the Center on PBIS. As such, Kelly provides professional development and technical assistance for state and local leaders in the implementation and scale up of PBIS, the evidence-based multi-tiered system of support for social-emotional-behavioral health and wellness. In addition, Kelly has led local, regional and state level implementers in the Interconnected Systems Framework, focusing on the integration of the mental health and education systems.  Currently, Kelly is the Principal Investigator for an OSERS Model Demonstration Grant – Project EPIC (Enhancing Family-School-Community Partnerships through an Interconnected Systems Framework Collaboration) and the lead trainer for a NIMHD Violence Prevention Grant – Project RISE (Reducing Inequities in School Environments).
