Thank you for your interest in hosting a Tour Your Future event! Tour Your Future invites girls, non-binary youth, gender nonconforming youth, and genderqueer individuals ages 11–17 to discover unique and exciting careers in science, technology, engineering, and math. Statistics show that women are still drastically underrepresented in many STEM fields, including computing and engineering.  Although statistics on nonbinary, gender nonconforming, and genderqueer individuals in STEM is limited, initial data is showing that LGBTQ+ individuals in STEM fields face more challenges in the workplace.  The goal of Tour Your Future is to provide young people of marginalized genders with career knowledge and representation so that they can see themselves in these careers. By touring real workplaces and meeting mentors they can relate to, students can visualize new possibilities for their futures. At Carnegie Science Center, we believe bringing diverse perspectives to the table leads to greater innovation and more equitable outcomes.
