Over the years, Tohoku
University has endeavored to achieve greater diversity through actions for
advancing gender equality, researcher support, and other goals—a commitment
rooted in our historical standing as Japan’s first university to accept female
students. Last April, the Tohoku University Declaration of Promoting Diversity,
Equity and Inclusion (DEI) was issued to proclaim our vision for becoming a
university where the broad diversity of all its members is respected, and where
their talents are embraced and exercised to the fullest. Since then, various
efforts have been made to cultivate awareness of that vision and develop the
environment and programs necessary for achieving it.
This survey is being
conducted to gather your opinions and suggestions on actions necessary for
advancing DEI going forward. The survey findings will be managed and published
by TUMUG, and will be used to guide forthcoming efforts for promoting DEI, gender
equality, and researcher support.
Responses to this survey will
be compiled and analyzed solely by TUMUG staff in a non-personally identifiable
manner.
It should take about 5 to 10
minutes to complete the survey.
