Tell your child that you are going to be reviewing a prayer that they learned earlier in the year and that praises Jesus, his Father, and the Holy Spirit. Ask your child: "Do you know how to make the Sign of the Cross and Say the words that go along with it?" After your child demonstrates how to do it. Make the Sign of the Cross with them. Then tell them that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are Three Persons in One God-the Holy Trinity. And Today we are going to learn a prayer to the Holy Spirit, who can help us when we are sad, scared, or angry. *
Please help your child find page 33 in their What the Church Believes and Teaches Workbook. Direct them to look at the bottom of the page and count two lines up until the find the word that starts with the letter H. To help them you can write the "Holy Spirit, help me prayer" on a piece of paper and invite them to repeat the prayer after you two times. *
Have your child close their eyes. Direct them to respond "Holy Spirit, help me" after each prayer. Pray: Whenever I feel sad, I know I can pray...(R.) Whenever I am scared, I know I can pray...(R.) Whenever someone makes me angry, I know I can pray...(R.)
