Volunteer to Adopt-a-Trail
Welcome to the Bayfield Area Trails' first year of the Adopt-a-Trail program! Please fill out this form to sign up to become an adopter. As an adopter you will perform an essential service: helping to maintain a safe high-quality experience for trail users and keeping the land managers informed about trail condition and use.

We ask that you visit and maintain your trail section at least three times during the snow-free season: in spring by May 15th, summer by August 1st, and fall by October 1st.  Your role is to perform basic trail maintenance such as picking up litter, removing brush, raking leaves from the tread, and clearing encroaching vegetation, etc.. If you identify work that requires substantial action or that you are unable to perform by yourself, please notify the Trails Subcommittee Chair by email to bayfieldareatrails@gmail.com. REMEMBER: SAFETY FIRST!

With each visit, we ask that you complete and submit a Trail Condition Report form (to be developed and sent to adopters by July). This information will be shared with the Bayfield Area Trails Committee members to provide timely reporting of issues that require substantial action, pose safety concerns, or impact resources.

You may choose to adopt multiple sections from the lists below. Multiple individuals may share sections of trail, which is especially helpful on heavily-used trails.
