International and Indigenous Languages Elementary (IILE) Program 2022-2023 Registration Form

The International and Indigenous Languages Elementary (IILE) Program allows students in Kindergarten to Grade 8 to develop their first language and an opportunity to discover a new, second language. With a focus on inclusivity, the program also deepens students’ cultural awareness, and positively contributes towards their sense of belonging, self-esteem and self-image.

The IILE program is a non-credit program focusing on the development of the four language skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing with an emphasis on oral language development.  Students feel connected with another language and learn with other children in a caring and inclusive environment.   These classes are taught by International Languages Instructors.

IILE programs are for ALL students, regardless of their first language.  Some students may have no heritage or ancestral link to the language but may be interested in learning something new.

While we will make every effort to accommodate your child's learning needs, we remind families that there is only one instructor in each class and there is no EA or CYW support.

English and French languages are not offered as part of the International and Indigenous Languages Elementary Program.

Registrations are welcome throughout the school year.
