2024 Arts Council of Southwestern Indiana Art Awards Nomination Form
The Arts Council of Southwestern Indiana recognizes individuals, groups, businesses, projects, and institutions that have made significant contributions to the arts in Southwestern Indiana. NEW in 2024: Winners in all categories will be announced in advance of the event, on May 22nd. The Art Awards ceremony will be held on Thursday, August 15th, 2024 at City View at Sterling Square.

Nomination Category:

Mayor's Art Award - This highly prestigious honor is given to an individual whose contributions to the arts have had an exceptional impact on the community. Consideration is given to evidence of long-standing support of, and life-long interest in, the arts. The nominee must be a current resident of Vanderburgh County whose arts activities have had significant impact on the City of Evansville.

Visual Art Award - This award recognizes an exceptional candidate from the visual arts discipline. (Film and literary arts are included in this category.)

Performing Art Award - This award recognizes an exceptional candidate from the performing arts discipline.

Young Artist Award - This award recognizes a rising high school junior or senior in the 2024-2025 school year who displays exceptional aptitude in an artistic discipline.

Art Educator Award - This award recognizes an educator who directly influences and engages students of any age through the visual, literary, or performing arts.

Art Project Award - This award recognizes a project that utilized the arts to advance community, economic development, or quality of life goals or initiatives in the 2023 calendar year.

What are the Arts Awards?

The Arts Council of Southwestern Indiana recognizes individuals, groups, businesses, projects, and institutions that have made significant contributions to the arts in Southwestern Indiana. Winners will be announced on May 22. The Art Award ceremony will be held on August 15th at City View at Sterling Square (210 North Fulton Avenue, Evansville, Indiana, 47710). 

Who is eligible to receive an award?

Any individual, group, business, project, or institution may be nominated for these awards. The Mayor's Arts Award is presented by the Mayor of Evansville and is restricted to a resident(s) of Vanderburgh County. A past recipient is not eligible to win in the same category again. Who may you nominate?

You may submit nominations for an unlimited number of individuals. Please submit a separate nomination form for each candidate, however, and check ONLY ONE CATEGORY for each nomination.

When will the awards be presented?

The Awards celebration will be Thursday, August 15, 2024.

Who will make the decisions?

A selection committee will select the winners from the pool of nominees for each award.

What will the recipients receive?

Each recipient will receive an original artwork by a regional artist created for the 2024 Awards, and will attend the Arts Awards Celebration at no cost.

What is the nomination deadline?

The nomination must be received at the Arts Council office by 4 p.m., May 10th, 2024.
