Information for applicants
Speedy Crits is an opportunity for artists to present their work, at any stage of development, in front of an industry expert and panel of peers.  Speedy Crits was designed by artist Helen Kilby Nelson and is part of the Coventry Artspace Artist Development programme.

We are aware that presenting work in development can have varying degrees of discomfort for artists. It can depend on many factors, eg, what stage of your career you are at, whether you have gone through formal or informal arts training, are self taught, levels of confidence, frequency of artist interaction etc.

This form will help us understand more about you and your practice so we can support you.

Each session has one artist presenting.  To keep the sessions speedy the presenting artist is asked to prepare either a google (or other) digital folder, a .pdf doc, an online blog, website or social media feed.  This is then shared with the all participants one week before the session.  If you would like help with this we can support you to find what works best for you.

Sessions take place on Zoom and the link for this is only shared with  participants to prevent possible intrusions.

All artists will be supported by a member of the Coventry Artspace team and meeting will be arranged for a mutually convenient time, both before and after the session.

In the event that more than one artist has applied for the same date, applications will be shared with the Coventry Artspace Advisory Board to assess which artist will be selected.
