Thanks so much for your interest in studying abroad in Lisbon for the May-term of 2024 (May 6th-May 25th). This three-week excursion will examine multiple facets of Portugal's unique approach to drug policy, focused on decriminalization, harm reduction, and providing social and economic support for people who use drugs (as opposed to prosecution, incarceration, and punishment). Students will also have plenty of time to explore the sights, food, and culture of Portugal, one of Europe's most vibrant, beautiful, and affordable destinations.
Below, we ask you to provide a bit more information about yourself so that we can keep you up to date on all the details for this exciting trip. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to the co-coordinators of this study abroad, Professor Rob Glover in Political Science/Honors (robert.glover@maine.edu) or Professor Karyn Sporer in Sociology (karyn.sporer@maine.edu).
This is not an application for the study abroad, and does not obligate you to participate. It's simply so that we can provide you more information about the opportunity, as well as assess your initial eligibility.
