REGISTERED QUARTET:  is a quartet who has registered their name and personnel with Sweet Adelines International or the Barbershop Harmony Society. Registered quartets seldom change personnel. They rehearse regularly and build up a repertoire with dialogue in order to tailor a program to fit most any audience and situation. They can usually do a 30-45 minute program.

ESTABLISHED QUARTET:  is a quartets who may or may not be registered. Since it costs to register, some only do so when they wish to compete. Their repertoire and performance package may be more limited as they don't rehearse as often.
