Quirky Voices Voice Acting Course - Beginners - HALLOOOO!


HalloOoo and Hearty WELCOMES to the initial sign-up form for the Quirky Voices Voice Acting Course - for Indie Audio Fiction - for beginners.

There are limited places per course and only three sign up times (1pm TUES SOLD OUT!) - NEW SUNDAY TIME ADDED - so PLEASE make sure you choose the right one, and please do check the BST time against your own time zone to save on mishaps!

THE COURSE WILL START ON TUESDAY 22 SEPTEMBER and run until 20 October for the Tuesday course.
THE SUNDAY COURSE HAS ONE TIME SLOT ONLY AND WILLL RUN FROM 20 September to 18 October 2020.

Classes will hold UP TO 6 people. Each session must have a minimum of three candidates to function well. If for whatever reason, one session holds less than three candidates, voice actors will be offered an alternative time or have money refunded or passed over to a further course at the say so of the individual candidate if it is not feasible to continue (at Quirky Voices Discretion).

If you want to know....what a DAW is, how to set up a mic to work with a DAW, about types of mics and how to speak into the sweet spot when talking, whispering, singing, shouting, how to market yourself with headshots and voice reels and social media, how to find and have the confidence to win auditions, use best etiquette with producers and casting folks, find the social media places to be to find work, organise yourself, mark up scriots effectively, learn som breath control and body alignment, and practice auditioning for a variety of genres FOR INDIE AUDIO DRAMA / AUDIO FICTION AND experiment with and find some character voices then.....this is THE COURSE FOR YOU🎉🎉🎉💙🌍🌎🌏

There will be written homework’s such as....compiling your own biog info, writing a ‘cold’ email to a producer, replying to an audition, and preparing voices and characters for the sessions we do....even doing a little recording at home. The sessions vary in participation - some is Sarah talking, sharing her expertise, , some is interactive with individuals or the whole group, and some is also feeding back to and working with your peers on scripts and characters and improvisation.

Payment is via PayPal - Sarah will send you an invoice to the email provided via PayPal (shortly after receipt of this form) for £100 for the course. This includes 5 x 1 hour sessions occurring at the same time every week unless the world does actually end. Which would be annoying. So let’s hope it doesn’t. In the light of you missing a session, Sarah cannot reschedule or redo a session, nor can you join another session to catch up. You may have the notes for all sessions and resources links...
The low price is there to make it easier for folks to access this grooviest of courses and valuable current information from Sarah Golding, who is currently very much entrenched in making audio fiction, both as a producer and as a VA. I would highly advise you listen to MADIVA podcast, (available on any platform)  and also familiarise yourself with many different audio fiction shows on the landscape before starting this course.

DO: Practice daily different voices, talk along with the radio and make up and narrate you’re own scripts....

Once all payment has been received you will receive a starter pack of worksheets and tasks to think about even before the course begins!

Make sure you email Sarah any questions well in advance of the course and she will endeavour to answer them.

By showing an interest in this course and highlighting a preferred time to participate, Sarah will email you from her Quirky Voices account (keep an eye on your spam folder in case it sneaks in there! And on receipt of place availability confirmation will hold the space for you for 7 days And ping you a paypal invoice. If you do not have paypal a direct bank transfer to the Quirky Voices account is preferred. Please pay for the space within seven days of receipt of confirmation of availability of space to lock in your place on the course. Oh go on. It’ll be fun!
