Thank you for registering for Shiitakepalooza 2024! In this workshop you will learn how to cultivate log-grown shiitake at a home and small business scale. The workshop will cover preferred tree species, spawn types, inoculation tools and techniques, and ideal growing environments. The workshop is held rain or shine; it is held outside with covered barn space available. We offer on-farm parking that is ~300 yard walk to the workshop area. Arrive and settle in between 12:30-1 p.m.; we will start promptly at 1 p.m. This interactive workshop includes a farm/forest walking tour and opportunities for learning by doing, that can include walking on uneven ground, and lifting of heavy objects and use of power tools (by choice and not required). There are limited spaces in the workshop so we can ensure a safe and high-quality learning experience. A $30 workshop fee per participant older than 12 years old (kids 12 and under are welcomed, free, and MUST be registered and supervised at all times) includes the hands-on workshop and a shiitake-inoculated log to take home. Please note, if you plan to bring children, you are responsible for ensuring they follow all safety guidelines and are supervised at all times. Additional shiitake inoculated logs will be available for purchase at $20/log. You will receive a confirmation email with additional details following your submission of this registration form and payment; please note, you are not considered "registered" for this workshop until your payment is received.
