ADCA Executive Board Offices and LSAT Offices
ADCA Co-Presidents (2)
The presidents shall preside over meetings of the organization and executive board, serve as the primary contact for the principal, represent the organization at meetings outside the organization, serve as an ex-officio member of all committees, and coordinate the work of all the officers and committees so that the purposes of the organization are served.
ADCA Co-Treasurers (2)
The treasurers shall receive all funds of the organization, keep an accurate record of receipts and expenditures, and pay out funds in accordance with the approval of the executive board. They will present a financial statement at every meeting and at other times of the year when requested by the executive board, and make a full report at the end of the year.
ADCA Secretary (1)
The Secretary will be responsible for keeping the minutes for ADCA Executive Board and ADCA General Meetings. They will also be charged with filing bi-annual reports with DCRA, posting ADCA information to the website and organizing the ADCA documents. They will work with other ADCA Board members reaching out to DCPS, the DC Government and other entities to acquire licenses, permits and other materials as needed.
ADCA Vice President Community Outreach/Community Day (1)
The Vice President for Community Outreach will communicate with feeder schools, Deal neighbors and local organizations and businesses on behalf of the ADCA and work to develop events, partnerships and opportunities to support the larger Deal community. They will establish a parent-student-community volunteer committee for ADCA events and also secure volunteers to coordinate open houses and tours for potential new families. They will also run Deal Community Day.
ADCA Vice Presidents Fundraising/Major Events (2)
The Vice Presidents for Fundraising/Major Events shall oversee the annual ADCA donation drive and all of the major Deal fundraising and sponsorship programs. They will recruit chairs and create organizing committees for Deal activities including International Night, the Annual Gala, the Holiday Greens Sale, the Mulch & Plant Online Sale, and sale of Deal Gear.
ADCA Vice Presidents Communications (3)
The Communications Vice Presidents will compose and send out constant contact communications to the school database as requested. They will update the website with ADCA happenings and maintain the digital ADCA calendar and assist with the directory. They will also promote Deal and ADCA activities on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook and assist Event Chairs and other ADCA officers with communications for Deal events.
ADCA Vice Presidents Hospitality/Faculty & Facilities Support (2)
The Hospitality & Faculty/Facilities Vice Presidents are charged with working with Ms. Neal and the Deal teachers and staff to support their needs. In addition they will organize and oversee teacher appreciation events (approx. 10 per year) and provide refreshments for general meetings, National Junior Honors Society reception and 8th grade graduation.
ADCA Vice Presidents ExtraCurriculars (2)
The Vice Presidents for Extracurriculars will help coordinate fundraising, logistics and outreach for Deal extracurriculars including Deal Sports, Deal Drama, Deal Music, Model UN, Speech & Debate and the rest of the Deal after school programs. They will help coordinate requests for support from the ADCA and serve as a liaison for students and parents taking part in Deal's many extracurricular activities.
Local School Advisory Team (LSAT) (2 at-large positions open and 1 open liaison with the ADCA)
LSAT members serve two-year terms. The LSAT is comprised of five elected parents: four at-large (two of these seats are open), and one parent elected to the LSAT to act as a liaison with the ADCA on behalf of the LSAT (this seat is open).
The LSAT has primary responsibility for advising the Principal on the academic priorities and initiatives of the school, including the development and refinement of school goals and the allocation of the budget. The LSAT also advises the Principal with respect to school needs and trends, enrollment and capacity figures, curriculum options, allocation of school resources, and priorities and considerations for staffing patterns and selection of personnel, among others.
Parent members of the LSAT also ensure representation for the school in DCPS and community-based organizations and working groups, such as the Ward 3 Education Network.
