21-22 Leadership Application
If you are interested in applying for a leadership position for the 21-22 school year please read the outline of the expectations and responsibilities and complete the following form.

All applications must be completed by Friday, April 23. Virtual interviews will be scheduled.

All leadership positions require a minimum of two years of experience. If you held a Field Captain or Guard Captain position last year YOU MUST REAPPLY for next year. Please refer to position descriptions below for additional information. Students who meet the requirements may apply for more than one position, but will only be assigned one position.

Field Captains (4 - 6 will be selected) must be at least entering their Sophomore year with a minimum of 2 full years of experience (inclusive of this year). Field Captains are responsible for coordinating band members during practice and events. Field Captains must be knowledgeable of organization procedures and protocols and display the ability to properly execute instructions. Responsibilities of Field Captains include, but are not limited to, assisting in music and marching instruction, coordination of sectional practices including both music and marching instruction, assisting in group communication, and coordinating care and loading of instruments and equipment.

Guard Captains (2 - 3 will be selected) must be at least entering their Sophomore year with a minimum of 2 full years of experience (inclusive of this year). Guard Captains are responsible for coordinating guard members during practice and events. Guard Captains must be knowledgeable of organization procedures and protocols and display the ability to properly execute instructions. Responsibilities of Guard Captains include, but are not limited to, assisting in choreography and marching instruction, coordination of sectional practices including both choreography and marching instruction, assisting in group communication, and coordinating care and loading of costumes and equipment. An audition including flag work choreography and display of technical skill is required for this position.

Drum Majors are Junior and Senior students who have continuously demonstrated a high level of musicianship, marching, leadership, and dedication to the band throughout their time as members. Students applying for Drum Major must be current Sophomores who have been in the Marching Band for at least 2 full years (inclusive of this year). The chosen Junior Drum Major will be responsible for leading the band during performances, assisting in practices during and after school, organizing the Field Captains, mentoring developing members, working with the instructional staff, assisting in events throughout the year, and constantly being a model of mature and professional behavior on and off the field. Applicants must confirm that they are available to attend all band events.
