Summer at Broad Creek
Welcome!

This year, Scouts BSA Troop 1029 will be heading to Broad Creek Memorial Scout Reservation.

"Nestled between the rolling hills of Harford County and the rolling waves of the Susquehanna River, Broad Creek is at the heart of Scouting adventure. From conquering the climbing tower to kayaking through a forest stream into deeper waters, Scout Camp at Broad Creek will give your scout a broad experience at summer camp.

Baltimore Area Council (BAC), Boy Scouts of America (BSA) owns and operates the Broad Creek Memorial Scout Reservation which consists of over 1600 acres of pristine Maryland woodlands and two operational camps: Camp Saffran (BSA & Cub Scouts) and Camp Oest (primative camping).

With a revived trek program, 55+ merit badges, and relentless evening programs, your Scouts will never run out of opportunities at camp. These activities will not only amount to endless fun, but will also promote character development, physical and moral training, and the ability to complete a multitude of requirements that are all necessary to rise in the ranks of Scouting."  ~Broad Creek

Troop 1029 is camping the week of JULY 16 – 22, 2023 (SUN-SAT).

HEALTH & SAFETY
Committee has deemed that summer camp activities are more extended than our regular weekend camping trips that we need to take extra care to maintain a safe environment.

ALL participants will need to either show proof of COVID vaccination (with booster) or a negative text within 48-hours prior to GEAR DROP-OFF DAY (Sat. 07/15/23, the day before we leave!).

ANNUAL HEALTH & MEDICAL RECORD
Scouts BSA Health & Medical forms are a requirement for all activity participation. For summer camp, this requirement includes a Physician's visit.

Unlike our regular monthly weekend camping trips, this is more inclusive. ALL parts of the form (parts A-C) will need to be completed with 2-sections requiring your physicians signature.

HERE is a link to the summer camp health form: https://www.scouting.org/health-and-safety/ahmr/. Remember, there are 2-sections that REQUIRE your physicians signature and Immunization section MUST be filled in, not written with "see attached".

Broad Creek states that ALL youth bringing medications to camp are REQUIRED to have a Drug Administration Record form completed by a parent. Please have this and all Broad Creek required forms, plus your BSA health forms completed and bring with you on Drop-off day (JUL. 15th).

Adults 18-years or older who wish to keep their medications with them at their campsite MUST complete a Medication Storage Release Record to be submitted to BC during the medical re-check at Broad Creek.
