Good Grief Network Affiliate Organization Facilitation Training
LaUra Schmidt & Aimee Lewis Reau created a unique step program that helps participants metabolize feelings like grief, anxiety, despair, and anger in the face of large systemic issues (climate emergency, ecocide, unequal wealth distribution, rampant racism and oppression). This program has been proven to help folks re-discover their personal agency and reinvest their energies into meaningful action.
We are constructing an Affiliate Facilitation Training program digitally and we want you to be a part of it.
This Affiliate Facilitation Training is designed for organizations (nonprofits, academic institutions, faith-based groups, and companies) that want to bring the "10-Steps to Personal Resilience & Empowerment in a Chaotic Climate" program into their own communities
As an Affiliate Facilitator, you can add unique and creative elements to the 10-Step Program to bring healing, resilience, and connection to your community. Your 10-Step meetings will be run "In Partnership with Good Grief Network," but will not be under the direction or supervision of Good Grief Network.
In this training, facilitators will:
•Learn the philosophy and process of the 10-Step Program
•Discuss the value of collective emotional processing
•Practice deep listening, compassion, and non-judgment in diverse spaces
•Have opportunities to share their feelings in small groups
Practice techniques for building brave and emergent containers
•Discuss best practices for setting expectations, and managing tension, conflicting perspectives, overwhelming emotions
•Learn techniques for checking in with and caring for themselves as facilitators
•Explore creative ways to personalize the 10-Step Program to meet their community’s needs
•Practice grounding exercises for individual regulation and collective co-regulation
•Discuss best practices for setting up and promoting 10-Step meetings
