Ukrainian Science Diaspora

The Young Scientists Council at the Ministry of Education and Science in Ukraine|Scholar Support Office  invite Ukrainian scholars who left Ukraine to fill this form for further engaging with Ukrainian gov, non-gov organizations for the reconstruction of Ukraine, research cooperation, assistance to other Ukrainian researchers for the integration into the global research community, development tools for their support and return to Ukraine programs

In addition, recently, the EU has opened the Horizon Europe programme and other R&D&I funding instruments to Ukrainian participation. Moreover, consortia are highly recommended or sometimes even required to include Ukrainian partners in their project proposals. In order to simplify their search for partners as well as to facilitate the initiation of project proposals by researchers in Ukraine, we appeal to those Ukrainian scientists who are currently in European institutions, but still have a Ukrainian affiliation, to fill out this questionnaire

The action plan of the Ukrainian Science Diaspora initiative provides for the following:

Action 1. Mapping of the Ukrainian scientific diaspora with the following information: who left (status, professional status), where and from where they came (country of current residence, place of residence in Ukraine)

Action 2. Creation of a database of those scholars who could participate in joint initiatives in the future. In the future, it is planned to create an online map of scientists.

Action 3. Identifying the need for further policy development and program support for Ukrainian scholars.

Action 4. Involvement of the Ukrainian scientific diaspora in dialogue and communication among themselves, with scientists who remained in Ukraine.

The project is carried out on the basis of the methodological tools of the International Organization for Migration, which is part of the United Nations (IOM Diaspora Mapping Toolkit).

The Young Scientists Council |Scholar Support Office at the Ministry of Education and Science in Ukraine will process the following personal data of scientists: surname, first name, gender of the scientist; date of leaving Ukraine; what oblast do they represent in Ukraine, their home institution, host institution in EU and other countries, science area; information about cluster of the Horizon Europe programme they would like to participate; contact details of the candidate: e-mail; other information. I allow to use this data for mapping.

My data will be kept for a maximum of 2 years and I can ask to be removed from the database at all times.

In the event of a change in my personal data, I will provide, as soon as possible, accurate, reliable information for updating my personal data.
