Richmond Main Street is proud to partner with Renaissance Entrepreneurship Center and Square to provide FREE E-commerce website creation and technical support for our business clients. Additionally, Square is providing free credit card processing hardware: Square Reader (for contactless and chip).  

Eligibility & Criteria for Free Square Reader
1) Business lawfully operates in, and owner resides in, areas that are a part of Richmond Main Street and Renaissance Entrepreneurship Center entrepreneurial ecosystem: Contra Costa County and Oakland
2) Demonstrate how Square hardware and/or Square E-Commerce site will help your business
3) Express willingness to work with RMSI/REC for additional/ongoing technical assistance (i.e. accessing capital, e-commerce, bookkeeping, licenses, etc.)
4) Ability to PICK-UP hardware donation at either RMSI or Ren Center offices in Richmond (both are near BART station). Note: we are unable to mail hardware donations.
5) Complete Square E-commerce webinar, sign up for virtual one-on-one with Martin, and/or launch your site*
6) Agree to photo opp with social media promotion and provide a testimonial about how the Square hardware will enhance their business*
*not required, but highly recommended for maximum impact!

Please complete this form to request a Square Reader. Expect to receive a response in 2-3 business days. Inquiries will be reviewed and approved on a first-come, first-served basis. We will strive to accommodate as many requests as possible.
