LTISD Solo/Ensemble Contest
April 27th, 9:00am-1:00pm at LTMS

Our first ever LTISD Solo/Ensemble Contest!
You should be working on a solo with your voice teacher. Please discuss this with them before filling out the form! :)


MUSIC SELECTION REQUIREMENTS:

*****The solo MUST be classical in nature.
(so ... NOT from a musical, a pop song, etc.) Your voice teacher will know! :)
You can use the PML list as a guide- found here: http://wwwdev.uiltexas.org/pml/
in the drop down menus; select Grade 3 (the easiest grade solo) and Vocal Solo

*****ORIGINAL SCORES with measures numbered are needed for the judge
(a photocopy is fine for the accompanist - if needed) (Your teacher should have this)

*****Solos MUST be MEMORIZED*******

*****Ensembles must have separate parts. Not a solo sung by multiple voices*****




ACCOMPANIMENT:
We will have a CD player/speaker in the rooms for performers. You can connect with the provided aux cord or with Bluetooth.

You may sing with an approved recording (piano only - no vocals) or use a live accompanist. Your voice teacher may have an accompanist in mind, or you can contact Cathie Parsley at cparsley@austin.rr.com or 512-297-5483. Her fee is $50 (includes a 20 minute rehearsal and the performance)



OTHER CONTEST DETAILS:
The contest will be run similar to the High School contest. Ideally, just the student, accompanist, (maybe voice teacher), and judge will be in the room. For the sake of time and nerves, other students will not be allowed to go into the room and listen.



IF YOU DO NOT TAKE VOICE LESSONS but want to participate, please use the song found on LTMSchoir.com. There will be music you can print, a learning recording and an accompaniment only recording. Please ask your choir director to listen to you prior to the contest. Ms. Zeller will have the original scores for this song the day of contest. You can perform with the recorded accompaniment. :)
