Draw a point 30° upward from the construction line at W's head and a point 50° downward from the construction line at W's tail
Choose an appropriate scale
Measure T₁ and T₂ and convert according to the scale
Draw a line from W's tail, through the 50° point and ending at the intersection with T₁
Draw W's length according to the chosen scale
Draw a long line from W's head through the 30° point
Draw horizontal construction lines at W's head and tail
Exam question practice: Part 2
We can find the magnitudes of T₁ and T₂ using a calculation.
Give the best sequence of steps we should use.
You must assign Step 2/3 to two items because the order between them does not matter.

Solve for T₁
Resolve T₁ and T₂ into their x and y components, given in terms of T₁ and T₂
Solve for T₂
Add W to the y components of T₁ and T₂. Equate this to Zero.
The sum of the x components of T₁ and T₂ = 0. Use this to calculate T₁'s value in terms of T₂
To the y-component equation: Substitute T₁'s value in terms of T₂ into T₂ to remove T₁ from the equation
