All volunteer positions will help to staff the tent. This includes engaging with attendees to share information on the Masonic Cancer Center, play educational games/trivia, distribute prizes and sunscreen, chat with attendees and generally create a welcoming environment.
The first and last shift of the day will include some light set-up and tear-down. Volunteers should be able to walk and stand for periods of time, including walking to and from the exhibit site. Parking is on your own. Plan to arrive early to ensure parking and your walk time to the exhibit location.
The Masonic Cancer Center exhibit will include two 10 x 10 tents, but be prepared to wear sunscreen and prepare to be exposed to the sun. There is not power at our site so please plan accordingly.
Volunteers should be prepared to be outside - rain or shine. Plan to dress appropriately with comfortable shoes. A volunteer t-shirt will be provided. We suggest bringing a water bottle, snack or some money to purchase food from vendors on site.
Additional information will be sent out following your registration. If you have any questions, please contact Lissa at mccevents@umn.edu.
