2021-2022 NSHS Parking Pass - Student Regulations for Driving to School
1. Student vehicles must be registered and have a parking permit properly displayed BEFORE driving any vehicle to school. To apply for a parking permit, student’s must complete the Student Parking Permit  application form, students must also maintain a valid driver’s license and current registration.
2. Parking permits may not be transferred from the registered vehicle to another without notifying security staff.
3. Students are to drive directly to the student parking lot. STUDENTS MAY PARK ONLY IN THE STUDENT PARKING LOT within applicable painted lines. Failure to abide by this regulation will result in disciplinary action as outlined in the student handbook.
4. Any student who drives a vehicle on school grounds in a reckless manner will be subject to criminal action by the County’s Sheriff Department. Driving in excess of 15 MPH, fast starts and skidding of tires are examples of reckless driving.
5. Sitting in vehicles or loitering in the parking lot before, during or after school is NOT allowed. Once students arrive at school, they should LOCK their vehicles and go immediately into the school building. At the end of the school day, students should return to their vehicles and be prepared to depart the premises promptly.
6. STUDENTS WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO RETURN TO THE STUDENT PARKING LOT DURING THE SCHOOL DAY - INCLUDING LUNCH PERIODS UNLESS APPROVED BY SECURITY STAFF.
7. Students are to report any accidents, injuries or vandalism to security/sheriff deputy and or school administration immediately. Do not move an affected vehicle until told to do so by a security staff and /or sheriff deputy.
8. Students who have a registered parking permit but drive a substitute vehicle must notify the security staff upon arrival at school. The students parking permit must be displayed on the substitute vehicle.
9. Students are “NOT” permitted to park in the “staff parking lot”, the parking lot behind the gym, on the sides of the road directly behind the gym or on sidewalks in front of the tennis courts.
10. Violation of Student Code of Conduct- which states, School campus traffic offenses, including but
not limited to, unsafe operation of a vehicle, and /or failure to obey these rules necessary to
obtain/retain a school parking sticker may result in the loss of driving privileges, disciplinary consequences.
11. While on school property, the school administration reserves the right to search a student’s vehicle.
12. Student driver's privileges may be revoked at any time during the course of the year for violations of parking regulations, excessive tardiness to class/school/and or referrals.
13. For the 2021-2022 school year, the fee for a parking pass is $75.
