Access to the Georgetown-MedStar IRB System
This is the Georgetown University form used to request access to the Georgetown-MedStar IRB System.

Generally, your log-in should follow who your primary credentialing entity is, and your employment status. More specific, additional information regarding the proper channel for each person requesting a new account has been provided below.

Who SHOULD NOT USE this Georgetown University form to request access?

The IRB system uses your existing log-in credentials for your location. This means that:

You DO NOT need to use this form if you: (a) are a MedStar Employee or (b) you are a clinical provider (physicians, residents/fellows, nurse practitioners, other non-physician providers) whose primary credentialing location is a MedStar entity other than MedStar Georgetown University Hospital (MGUH), or are employed by a MedStar entity other than MGUH.
- In this case: please request access to the Georgetown-MedStar IRB System from your MedStar Department.

Who SHOULD USE this form to request access?

You SHOULD complete this form if you do not already have an account and:

(1) You are a Georgetown University Employee, student, Sponsored University Associate (SUA) who already has a NetID*

OR

(2) You are a clinical provider (physicians, residents/fellows, nurse practitioners, other non-physician providers) whose primary credentialing location is MGUH, or are employed by a Georgetown University entity.

* SUAs are individuals who are “lightly affiliated” with Georgetown University. They engage with Georgetown in a variety of non-academic and academic roles, and do not function as employees of the University. The GU IRB DOES NOT sponsor associates for obtaining a NetID.  The department for which the  SUA is engaged or affiliated is responsible for this process. Further information on the SUA process can be found at the following sites:
