2024 Downtown Madison Music & Public Performance Interest Form

Madison's Central Business Improvement District aka "The BID" is inviting local musicians and artists to showcase their talents downtown this summer and beyond. Please use this form to share your interest in the various opportunities. Opportunities begin May 1 and run through the Fall with a few special end-of-year opportunities.

While our performer interest form is a document we reference for the whole year, to be considered for any and all summer opportunities, apply by 3/24.

All performers receive a cash stipend. Stipend amounts vary by location of performance, length, band composition, and audience sizes.

Buskers = $25 - 50/performance
Special Events = $20 - 50/hour
YOUR Lunch Time LIVE = $250 - $500/performance
Live & Local = $150 - $250/performance

Performers will be required to sign a contract, provide a photo, and submit a W9.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT: Video and photos will be taken and shared on social media and websites managed by the BID. You can tag us as @VisitDowntownMadison on Instagram and @DowntownMadison on Facebook.

ALL EVENTS ARE OUTDOORS: Be aware that locations and times may be subject to change, you will be notified to any changes when we begin the contract process. Musicians are still paid at 75% if performances are cancelled due to weather.

VENDING: Our performances are in public spaces so you will not be able to sell merchandise unless you have a current State of Wisconsin Sellers Permit and we are notified ahead of time -- you are always welcome to collect tips and donations. Please note- no sales are allowed on State property (this effects YOUR Lunch Time LIVE).

ALL PUBLIC HEALTH GUIDELINES MUST BE FOLLOWED.

SUMMER CONCERT SERIES
Are you interested in these musical opportunities?
YOUR Lunch Time LIVE - Performance from 12pm - 1pm on Tuesdays on the SOUTH Hamilton St. steps of the Capitol Square (6/6 - 8/29). You will have a sound engineer for this performance. All vending is prohibited on State property. 500+ people attend. 

LIVE & Local - Performance from 6pm - 8pm on Thursdays at Lisa Link Peace Park (6/1 - 8/31). You can vend in this space if you have a permit. You will not have a sound engineer for this event. 300+ people attend.

BUSKING
Are you interested in these art & music opportunities?

The BID has many opportunities throughout the year for folks to busk on the sidewalk during larger events. Buskers get a base pay and are encouraged to collect tips. 
Street Busking - Wide variety of opportunities (like busking at the Madison Night Market). Limited to 1-3 people, locations vary, power not always available, dates vary and will be provided with 2 weeks notice. Tips and donations allowed. No vending.
SPECIAL EVENTS

Special Events - Options Below. The most unique creative performances and experiences wanted! These special events have attendances in the thousands. Vending may be allowed.
