Day Support Services: Social interaction with older people with early onset dementia in our Day Support in Urmston. Full training provided. 3 hours on one day per week minimum (Mon-Fri)
Get Connected Project: Support older people to learn to use their devices for email, internet, and other basic uses. 2-3hrs per week (Mon-Fri)
Walking Football Session Coach: Help run our weekly walking football sessions at George Carnell Leisure Centre. Organise teams, run warm ups, referee, and include people of all abilities. Tuesday 10:30am-12:30pm.
General Hub Support: Help at regular or one-off events, fundraising and more. Setting up rooms, welcoming people, serving tea and coffee, socialising and tidying. Hours can vary and be informal 'as and when' arrangements.
Coffee Morning Volunteer: Assist at our monthly coffee mornings, serve tea and coffee, help set up and put away, socialise with attendees.
Exercise Class Volunteer: Run one of our exercise classes for older people (training will be given). 1-2hrs per week commitment.
Fundraising: Charity Shop Volunteer: Sales assistant in our shop in Ashton on Mersey. Organise window displays, sort and tidy, work on the till and deal with gift aid and donations. 3-4hrs per week (Mon-Sat)
Information and Advice (Advisor): Provide information to callers on the helpdesk and telephone at the Urmston Office. Training will be given. 9:30am-1pm (Monday-Wednesday)
Information and Advice (Form Filler): To complete benefit applications for Attendance Allowance and other benefits. 2hrs a week.
Community Contact Volunteer - Reception: To answer calls and deal with callers to the Community Hub in a professional and empathetic manner. Help connect service users in need with appropriate services and staff members. Shifts Mon-Fri, 9:30pm-1pm and 1pm-4pm.
Telephone Befriender: weekly befriending calls to older people who may be isolated or lonely. Support and training provided. 1hr a week.
Soup and Social Helper (Mondays): help set up, run, and clean up after our Monday soup social.
eBay Coordinator: Need a proactive volunteer who can help us maintain our eBay store. Includes taking photos of items and creating engaging listings. 3-4 hours Monday-Saturday, flexible hours.
Memory Loss Advice Administrator: give 2 hours of your time on a Friday morning to answering calls from people with dementia or carers of people with dementia: you are not expected to give advice, but will work to refer callers to the appropriate advisor. Flexible hours.
Memory Loss Advice Design Volunteer: a remote opportunity to help our Memory Loss Advice team design and format a newsletter that is appealing and accessible for their cognitively impaired service users.
Know Your Neighbour Volunteer: an M41 specific community liaison role where you will interact with people in your local area, signposting them to support resources and feeding back community needs to the volunteer coordinator. Entirely flexible hours.
Home Library Driver: car and license needed: delivering books to people in their homes if they can no longer make it to their local library, a free service to local individuals with a love of literature who struggle with mobility
