At Hometown Nazareth, we will explore the culture of Jesus' boyhood. At times, the Bible can feel like an old history book. After all, those things did happen a long time ago! We often forget that Jesus was a kid too, who lived and walked on this Earth and experienced childhood. He had a family, friends, neighbours, a home, and a place to worship and learn about God. Jesus got to work with his hands and help his earthly father build, just like many of us. Hebrews 4:15 says "For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weakness...". Just as Jesus experienced the temptations and hardships we do, he also experienced life as a boy and teenager, and can relate to us. Thanks to the Holy Spirit that He left behind for us, He is also up to date on what’s happening in our present days. Our prayer is that as we learn about Jesus' growing up years, we will discover more about Him, making it easier to relate to Him and deepen our knowledge that Jesus is still here, walking with us each day.
