Globally, academic researchers have been done with a strong bearing on industry. The ultimate outcome has been that these researches are holed up in libraries as reference materials. Whereas the expectations are that the findings should be implemented for researchers to have a strong footprint in industry, the expectations are far from reality. This kind of outlook is not an enabler to industrialization as envisioned in the Kenya Agenda 4 (Manufacturing & Job Creation Pillar) and vision 2030 under industrialization pillar. Therefore, the conversation in this forum is an attempt to bridge this glaring gap between academia and industry with a view to achieving sustainable development in the Kenyan economy.
