Application for HRI Board of Directors
Thank you for your interest in applying to join the Healing and Reconciliation Institute's Board of Directors, and for your willingness to dedicate your time to helping us work toward our mission. We are honored that you believe in our work and want to collaborate with us to improve it even further. Please fill out the form below to help us gather some essential information as part of your application.

If selected as the newest Council Member of HRI's Board of Directors, here are a few things to plan for:
  1. Your term will formally begin this coming February.
  2. The Board gathers virtually once per quarter.  Please allow up to two hours for each meeting.
  3. In advance of the February/Quarter One Board meeting, you'll also be invited to attend the annual end-of-year team retreat.  Pre-approved travel expenses will be reimbursed and shared group meals and lodgings will be provided.  Attendance (before your term formally begins) is optional but highly encouraged, as it will provide a rare opportunity for deep and comprehensive learning about the organization (and bonding time with the HRI Community!)
  4. Each Council member serves a two-year term, with the option to extend for a third year.
  5. In the second year of your term, you will be invited to regularly participate in one of HRI's Circles of Governance (or "Board focus groups").  These provide high-level guidance around topics such as Financial Management, Fundraising, Indigenous Governance, Programs, and Strategic Alignment.  Each Circle meets at a different frequency, as little as twice per year or as much as quarterly (frequency may sometimes temporarily increase during periods of high need).
