Your Experience using a Dell Laptop with a i9 Processor (e.g. Dell XPS)
Background:
This form is understand your experience with Dell i9 Laptops. We are asking for your experience to see if it matches our experience and the experience of other Dell i9 Laptop customers. We have owned Dell Laptops from 2014-2024. As of 2019, we noticed a significant change in Dell i9 Laptops. We also found many users who reported that they noticed this change as well.

How we will use this form:
We will encourage Dell to take notice of this significant change in the laptops they sell (No personal identifying information will be shared with Dell to take this step; at this step, anonymous statistics may be shared). We will encourage Dell to help users who were negatively impacted by this change (e.g. repair, refund, a partial refund to offsett costs, ...). If you choose, we will message you with information on how to receive help. We need the support of real people who are Dell i9 laptop customers to make this happen (even when user information is not shared).

All information is confidential. The data you fill in will be used only for this purpose.
We expect that we will need to verify customers to validate the statistics sent to Dell (even when the statistics are anonymous).

Who:
This initiative was created by a Dell laptop owner, who first purchased a Dell laptop in 2014, and works as a computer science researcher. A team is forming to act with the support of Dell customers to encourage Dell to be responsible with their laptop line, satisfy their customers, and make their customer's whole.

The "service tag" is located in several places.

A "service tag" is multiple letters and numbers. (e.g. SGTUE9832)

Note, all laptops have service tags. (No warranty plan is needed.)

Check the following places for the "service tag":
  • It is written on the back (or back-side) of the laptop you purchased (also look for "ST")
  • It is written on your paper receipt
  • Check your email by searching for "dell" (Dell may have emailed you a receipt or service contract)
  • It is written on your service contract
  • It is in the Dell application installed on your computer
  • Call Dell and ask for the servig tag
