HERITAGE WESTERN CAPE (HWC) PERMIT FEE WAIVER APPLICATION

HWC charges permit application fees levied in accordance with a schedule of fees approved by the Council.  

In some specific instances a permit application fee may be waived for non-corporate, non-governmental organisations and real persons  (i.e.  individuals) upon request subject to the discretion of the CEO of HWC, provided it falls within the criteria as approved by the Council of HWC. The following criteria applies:

1. The cost of the fee  relative  to  the  value  of the  work  proposed.  
2. If the work proposed is being  undertaken  on  a  voluntary  or charitable  basis.
3. The location of the site  and/or  place  of residence  of  the  applicant,  ie: consideration  of the  economic situation  of  the  neighbourhood  in which  the site is located  /  in  which  the  applicant  resides.
4. Charitable nature of NGO/CBO applicants  other  than  religious institutions.
5. Other evidence in the  application  indicating  the  applicant’s  economic  status, eg: use  of  consultants,  etc.

This online application form may be used to submit permit fee waiver applications to HWC using a compatible PC or mobile device.
