The QLAB project team has finalized three modules for faculty to use to support student review and practice of quantitative skills. The topics are: linear functions, logs and exponents, and descriptive statistics.
Faculty members who tested the modules found that the modules were flexible enough to be used for a variety of different courses in a variety of different ways. Module users commented that the disciplinary wrapping of the practice problems was authentic, and the modules were useful refreshers for their students. In particular, one user noted that the framing of the modules is done in a way that "seemed to be more supportive than assessive."
The modules are available for faculty who want to use them in Fall 2022, and the QLAB core team is looking for input about possible expansions of existing modules or topics for new modules.
To see the three existing modules, follow the links below. If you are faculty member at a LACOL school other than Carleton, choose non-Carleton accounts, and then select “Login using your account on Google.” You will be able to see the module from the student perspective.
