Thank you for your interest in Rhode Island Teen Institute (TI), an overnight leadership conference for teens entering 10th-12th grade in fall 2024. TI will be held at Camp Canonicus in Exeter, RI, Monday, August 12 - Friday, August 16, 2024.
At TI, we know everyone has a piece of good news. We'll learn from one another, challenge ourselves to expand our comfort zones, imagine new possibilities, and gain skills that help us work in teams and make healthy decisions for ourselves and our communities, all while having lots of fun!
Some things to consider:
Youth applicants should be between 15 and 18 years of age at the start of the conference.
Youth applicants will provide information about their "sponsor." Sponsors are any adult in the applicant's life who recognizes the applicant's leadership potential. We may contact the sponsor about your application, so please make sure they agree to the sponsorship. (Sponsors have no financial obligations.)
Tuition for participants is $25 and includes all food, lodging for four nights, use of the facility and grounds, program materials, supervision, and graduation materials. For scholarship information, contact RITeenInstitute@gmail.com or 401-244-7386.
Youth Staff members attend a full training day during the summer (date TBA), and staff is expected to arrive Sunday, August 11 at 5pm, and stay until 4pm on Friday, August 16.
Upon receiving your application we will contact you to schedule a brief phone or Zoom interview. Space is limited to 60 youth participants. We will notify you if you are placed on a wait list.
