In these unprecedented times of the global pandemic that is COVID-19, never has it become more important to share resources and support each other.

That is why I have created a vault of around 100 solos for instruments in every section of the brass band and for every level of player from beginner to professional.

Whilst on lockdown and self-isolating it’s a great time to focus on your playing, but your resources of repertoire may be limited, so I have made available some pieces for you to enjoy and rehearse.

Have a poke around in the varius folders as many solos are just Bb/Eb so could work for various instruments.

Also, with the launch of several online solo contests, here are some new options of things to play.

Of course, once you’re back rehearsing with your bands, if there are any of the solo pieces you’ve really enjoyed playing, you can always purchase the full set for £20.
.
There are also three books of graded solos for developing musicians with 30 pieces ranging from grade 2 to grade 6 standard. I have put the accompaniment tracks with these. Piano accompaniments in Bb and Eb pitch can also be purchased at £10 per book.

Mode for... was set-up by myself and my husband Simon Kerwin with a vision to love what we do and do what we love and to be creative and inspire and the need for this vision has never been more true than now.

It has always been our aim to support brass band musicians as much as possible and in every way we can, and this is an ethos I am very proud to uphold.

I also know that Simon would love to know that his music was being used to help, support and inspire others.

Making these solo parts accessible for free is just another way that I am trying to support all our brass musicians during these trying times.
