Playing sports, including physical education class and school teams, is an educational opportunity. Every student in New Hanover County should be entitled to the same opportunity to participate. These activities play an integral role in developing fitness and health, self-esteem and overall wellness. Every student deserves the opportunity to play. 

As religious and faith leaders, we call on all people of faith to stand with our transgender siblings who are being targeted by members of the New Hanover County School Board. 

Our trans and nonbinary students are entitled to the opportunity to play and be themselves without interference or harassment. Join us in letting our leaders know that people of faith stand with our Transgender siblings and that the God we know would welcome all of our children to come and play together.
