We would very much like to have your child included in our music program, as there are many ways music can help your child. In addition to learning how to sing, read music and play a musical instrument, the music program promotes teamwork, perseverance, self-discipline and self-esteem. Statistics show that young people who participate in music are among the strongest academically in their schools and enhance their overall school experience. Children in this district are able to participate in Band, Chorus or BOTH ensembles!

Weekly small group lessons take place during the school day, however, with the many academic responsibilities throughout the day, we would like to offer before school lessons when possible. Please indicate if you would be able to bring your child to school by 8:15 am for an 8:20 am weekly band lesson. Due to high demand, checking that you are able to bring your child does not guarantee that they will be scheduled before school. Will your child be able to attend before school lessons? *

I frequently use this app to notify parents of rehearsal or lesson changes/cancellations, remind parents of permission slip due dates, important performance information, and/or performance changes due to inclement weather.

I also encourage parents to use this app to reach out to me should any questions arise. This app has proven to be invaluable and I ask ALL parents sign-up. The Remind app also translates messages, which can be helpful if you are more comfortable communicating in a language other than English.

Is there anything you can tell me that will help with the instrument selection process?

If your child already plays/has an instrument, or they need to borrow a school instrument, this would be the perfect place to let me know. (Please note, our school instrument inventory is very limited and is primarily used by those unable to rent instruments.)

CHORUS: Chorus rehearsals take place during the school day! Your child will learn proper singing technique, balance, and blend while challenging themselves with appropriate and fun musical literature. Will your child be participating in Chorus? *
