In this 6-week group, students will learn about stress, how stress impacts the body, and the consequences of unmanaged stress. Group members will increase their awareness of personal stressors and learn specific skills to help them cope. The following skills will be discussed: diaphragmatic breathing, progressive muscle relaxation, mindfulness, guided imagery, and autogenics. There will be an opportunity to practice each new skill through participation in guided exercises. Group members will also receive resources to support their ongoing practice of stress management skills.
