Task Three: Jane is a blogger. She writes about her life and the house she shares with three friends in Los Angeles: Helen, Matt and David.
Read Jane's blog for this week.
This week was really exciting, if a little bit expensive!

My sister, Alison, came to visit me for the weekend. She lives in Texas, but was coming to Los Angeles for an engagement party. Two of her old friends from school were getting engaged. Alison had bought a dress for the party. It was beautiful. Alison has great taste when it comes to clothes. She always knows the best brands to buy.

Alison went into town to buy a present for her friends’ party. Helen was looking at Alison’s dress and she dropped some coffee on it. Helen and I tried to wash the stain out, but we couldn’t. We knew that Alison would be really upset about her dress, so we went to buy a new one for her.

Helen and I looked in a lot of shops. All the dresses were either too big, too small, or the wrong colour. Eventually, we saw one that looked almost the same as Alison’s. We decided to buy it, but there was one problem. The dress was $250! But as it was an emergency, we had to buy it anyway.

When Alison came home, Helen told her about the accident with her dress and gave her the new one. Helen looked really worried that Alison might be angry about her dress, but Alison loved the new dress! She’d only paid $10 for her old dress. She’d bought it secondhand from a charity shop, so she wasn’t angry at all!
