BridgeWhiz Teacher Assistant Application
The ACBL Educational Foundation will be offering BridgeWhiz, year 2 of their online Basic Bridge for youth initiative, based on the teaching model developed by Bridge for Youth in Seattle, starting OCT 17, 2022. This class will be offered online to students grades 4-12 anywhere in North America, using the 20-lesson curriculum developed and validated by Bridge for Youth. Classes are offered once per week from 4:00 to 5:30 PM in all time Zones. We anticipate sufficient student registration to support classes Monday through Thursday and Saturday. The classes are delivered using 8x8 for audio and white board session through screen share and the Shark Bridge Teaching Console for bridge play. Since the curriculum stresses learning through doing most of the class time is spent with students in the Shark classroom. The class size is expected to be between 30 - 50 students.

The ACBL Educational Foundation is recruiting teacher assistants to implement this program. The teacher assistant is a volunteer position. The responsibilities of assistant are as follows:

1. The Assistant will join Shark be listed as a co-host
2. Take attendance
3. Watch the 8x8 room. Often student lose internet connection and have to rejoin
4. Help student log-in to shark
5. Table monitor on shark for weakest students
6. Monitor for any unacceptable behavior
7. Help respond to student questions
