LOCATION: Salsa y Control Dance Studio (161 Harvard Ave #13b, Allston, MA 02134)
TIME: 1:00-4:00pm (3 Hrs)
We plan to start at 1pm but will also provide ample time for breaks and practice after the class.
CLASS DESCRIPTION: Day 1 will be a beginner-friendly introduction to Lindy Hop air steps. We'll talk history and culture and introduce you to some of the most famous moves, we'll teach you your first air steps, and we'll go over best practices for learning, training, and performing them. You'll not only learn some cool moves to put into your next jam or performance, but you'll build a solid foundation for practicing air steps with safety and consent so that everyone has an awesome time.
PREREQUISITES: Students should be in good general shape, and be comfortable with lots of jumping and lifting. Air steps are a fairly physical activity, so exercise caution if you have any history of knee, back, or shoulder injuries, etc. If you’re not sure if this class is for you, feel free to ask! Partners are not required for Day 1 but are encouraged for Day 2 (please reach out if you would like to be paired with someone).
