2023 IEA Zone 5 Scholarship Application

Applications must be received by 3/15/23. This form must be completed online.

Letters of recommendation should be emailed to zone5scholars@gmail.com with your name in the subject line -
ex. Jane Smith Recommendation.

Applicants will receive confirmation of receipt once the application and letter of recommendation has been received. Scholarships will be awarded the week of April 3rd.

Please be sure to list an e-mail address that is not affiliated with your high school! We may need to contact you after the end of the school year.

Be a current member of IEA and a member of a Zone 5 Team for 2 years.

Be a senior in high school during the 2022-2023 IEA season.

Have a current G.P.A. of 2.8 or above.

Resume - Please detail a short statement to highlight both riding and non-riding activities and accomplishments during your high school years. Please include all service or volunteer work. You can send your resume as a pdf if you prefer - just fill in this form with "see attached" and send to zone5scholars@gmail.com.

Essay - Please chose an essay topic.

What IEA experience will you take with you into the "real world" and how will you use what you learned?

How has being a part of a team sport made a difference in your Middle School/High School experience?

How has IEA helped you develop leadership skills and how will you apply those in college or in the workplace?

Please craft an essay of 500 words or less on your chosen essay topic.

Do you plan to work with horses or animals as an adult? If yes, please describe what you hope to do. *This is not a requirement for the zone 5 scholarship, but several regions offer smaller scholarships for seniors pursuing equestrian careers.

One letter of recommendation is required and no more than two will be reviewed by the committee. Please list your your reference(s) that will be e-mailing or sending a letter of recommendation. Letters of recommendation should be emailed to zone5scholars@gmail.com with your name in the subject line ex. Jane Smith Recommendation.
