75% of the American waste stream is recyclable but only 30% of it is actually recycled. Morrow County is only diverting approximately 11.81% of its waste stream! Knox and Marion counties are near 35-40%. The national average of pounds of waste per person diverted from the landfill is 1.51 pounds. Morrow County’s pound per person waste diverted from the landfill/day rate is 0.38 pounds.
