Lombard Lightning is a Not for Profit organization dedicated to the advancement of baseball.
What to expect with your base player fee
The base player fee will cover the following 15 indoor workout sessions during the offseason
10 professionally coached clinics
WSBL Season with 20 games plus playoffs
Minimum of 6 local tournaments
1 close out of state tournament - Omaha - Slumpbusters - College World Series
20 hours of indoor team cage time during fall and offseason
15 indoor workout sessions during the offseason after January 1.
10 Professionally run clinics
2 uniform jerseys, hat, 2 belts, 2 pairs of socks, warm up jersey long and short sleeves.
**There will be 2 mandatory fundraisers "events" for the entire program**
***The additional costs to travel to an "out of state tournament" such as food and lodging will be an additional expense to the player.
By accepting a roster spot you are obligated to participate in these “one-day” events and meet the requirements for each. A charge of $250 will be added for each missed fundraiser to your player fee. Total proceeds for fundraiser events will be distributed among the teams to reduce the remaining balance of the player fee.
The funds raised from the league-wide fundraiser events can be used toward the additional travel expenses incurred by an out of town trip.
The 2020 season player fee increase represents an increase in cage rental time, indoor space and the elimination in selling any coupon books, booster shot, raffle ticket or candy.
A Deposit of $300 will be due within 48 hours of being offered a roster spot. There will be no exceptions to this. The remaining balance may be paid in full or broken down into 8 payments of $125 beginning September 1.
Families must agree to volunteer to assist in running our home tournaments including working fields, including prep and cleanup, and possible concessions as requested by your manager. The tournament proceeds go toward capital improvements, care for the field, our facilities and help keep player fees low. There is no “opt out” this is required by every family participating in the program.
The Lombard Baseball League and Lombard Lightning is not for profit. We keep costs low through sponsorship, fundraising, the Village of Lombard, Lombard Park District and the support of our families.
