In this 3-session in-person training series offered at The RISE Center for UCLA, student leaders will learn strategies to foster and support student resilience and wellbeing on campus. Mental health skills include learning how to build resilient and balanced routines, identifying signs of distress among peers, delivering peer counseling skills, becoming familiar with community resources, detecting suicide risk, and implementing life-promoting, suicide prevention skills. Each training will include didactics and experiential practice of resilience strategies.
Undergraduate and graduate community leaders, peer counselors, student workers, and mental health advocates are encouraged to attend.
Participants who complete all 3 trainings will receive a CAPS/RISE Mental Health Leadership Certificate.
This training series is intended for UCLA students in or aspiring to be in leadership positions supporting other students (i.e. Fraternity and Sorority Life, RAs, Peer Counselors/Mentors, TAs, Student Organization/Club Leaders, peer advocates, student career development, etc.).
